Helle, I have a a question about an example in case of using present progressive. The first examples are pretty clear: 1. She is reading a book. 2. She is writing a letter. Both are matching the explication quite well. 3. She is closing the door. I was surprised that this shall be the correct form of the sentence. Cause, close a door is not an act like reading or writing. Except we construct a situation so the act to close this f. door means a lot of different keys, a combinations of numbers, yeah, but then we could each act construct till it match what progressive requires. Thanks in advance, Jose

Hello! The three sentences are correct. Everything depends on the situation. It is true that closing a door is something that does not take much time as a general rule. Best regards, Mike

An example follows: When lightning struck her, she was closing a door. (past continuous) The door is jammed, and my father is closing it.
